There are not many bands that actually have the chance and momentum to represent an era of a scene, and this band is one of them. The indie pop myth Rumah Sakit is a well-kept treasure of capital city's cutting edge era in the 90s.

To be honest, I was still a kid in elementary when Pop Kinetik was sung at Poster Café -- den of Jakarta's music scene in that era. It was my cousin who gave me a DYI mixtape filled with songs from Indonesia 90s bands, and Pop Kinetik was one of the songs.

It was 9 p.m., and the entrance of Eclectic Bar and Resto was super packed. After a long sabbatical hiatus, Rumah Sakit finally released a new album. Between the crowds, I could sense a serious matter of pine for this band.

Today, Rumah Sakit might be not massively recognized as a band, but I realized how big is this band when I spotted so many great musicians attended the gig. "I really miss them. Rumah Sakit is my idol back in the old days," said Club Eighties bassist Vincent Rompies.

Indeed, it was a warm gig with lots of smile and laughs. L'alphalpha and Ballads of the cliché intensified the atmosphere before the main course was served. The crowd was boiled with excitements when BOTC played time-machine tracks from Britpop tycoons such as The Stone Roses, The Smiths and Placebo. Old time favorites were successful enough to bring back the 90s atmosphere, where most bands are playing cover songs.

Andri Lemes -- Rumah Sakit vocalist and frontman -- is one of a kind guy. It is hard to be as deliberately cool as him, with a starched yet genuine kind of moves. Nickname "Lemes" was added to him not without reason, if you know what I mean. "Eh, udah tua! Udah tua," he shouted when the crowd grabbed him and trying to throw him to body surf all along the venue during Pop Kinetik
