Working on a 1997 Detroit Series 60 in a 1997 Bluebird Wanderlodge WB. We performed an overhead tune-up, which consists of adjusting the intake and exhaust valves and setting the injector heights. We also performed a couple of upgrade/technical service updates on the rocker arm adjusters, changing them from the old clip style to the new unitized button style. We also replaced the injector/jake brake wiring harness as the owner of this bus was already having issues with oil passing through it down to the ECM. As a part of the procedure you have to remove the jake brake units, so the customer replaced the o-rings on the jake brake solenoids while the units were out. We then had to perform the jake brake adjustment and bleeding the solenoids after installation of the jake brake units. This bus is performing better and the owner is reporting a slight increase in fuel mileage.
