The NSTF Brilliants students are treated to an educational tour consisting of visits to a variety of sites that will introduce them to space science, biodiversity, medical history, nuclear science/medicine and agro-processing. The programme is sponsored by the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) and the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
In particular, they visited the ARC Infruitec (Deciduous Fruit, Vines and Wine), the iThemba LABS (Laboratories for Accelerator Based Science), the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in Cape Town, the Heart of Cape Town Museum (Groote Schuur Hospital), the Two Oceans Aquarium, the Iziko South African Museum, and Planetarium and Digital Dome, and the SANSA Space Science (the Hermanus Magnetic Observatory).
