At the end of December 1980 UFOs were interacting with the base personnel. One triangular craft with hieroglyphics on it, allegedly landed in the forest and a sphere of red light maneuvered intelligently through the trees.

Col. Charles I Halt was in charge of the trams that went out to investigate. According to Halt the official documents he filed, have disappeared.

Debunkers tried to dismiss that explaining it away as the lighthouse.
Major Rehfeldt's response: "I never saw lighthouses fly over the runway"
