In early 2015, I was diagnosed with Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO). After a lifetime of chronic illness, I finally had an answer as to why I had been feeling so sick for so many years. I worked with an incredible Naturopath who helped heal my gut and reduce the excess bacteria living in my small intestine.
But I realised that my journey to health would take much more than popping a few pills. I had to focus on my 5 Key Pillars To Health:
Awareness: I had to become AWARE of the symptoms my body was giving me
Nutrition: I had to focus on my NUTRITION because it had the power to help heal my body
Movement: I also had to incorporate MOVEMENT back into my daily life, because I had become sedentary.
Mindset: My MINDSET needed to change, as I was so focused on what I couldn't do, I forgot to see what I could achieve.
Lifestyle: And finally, my LIFESTYLE had to change to support the new, healthy me.
