Muharram is a month in which we are taught to excel in worship and good deeds. It is a month of historical significance when Noah, upon him be peace, was delivered from the flood and the people of Moses, upon him be peace, were freed from the oppression of the pharaoh. It is a month of great sorrow as the grandson of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Imam Al-Husayn, the prince of the believers, may God be pleased with him, was martyred in the tragic massacre of Karbala while standing against injustice. It continues to be a month of sincere reflection for those who believe in God and seek to honor the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his family, may God be pleased with them all.
