Birgunj, Feb 05 (ANI): In Birgunj, Terai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman, Mahantha Thakur, led a protest in support of the ethnic Madeshis. Thakur threatened to intensify the protest if the Nepal government did not address their concerns immediately. For the last few months protesters have blocked the crucial India-Nepal border leading to acute shortage of fuel and other essential commodities. Madeshis have been protesting for the last six months for more representation in parliament after the constitution was adopted in September last year. Continued protest has led to economic crisis in the landlocked country.
