IN THE STUDIO explores percussion concepts, technique, and aesthetic in the informal setting of Grammy® Award-winning percussionist T.J. Troy’s home studio. Each video features in-depth discussion on various rhythmic concepts, and comes annotated with written examples embedded in the video, allowing you to practice along with me on the various ideas included.

Today’s video is inspired from a user comment: Stefan Rr asks what kind of ride cymbal would work well with finger technique, and while I won't give a direct recommendation of a certain brand of cymbal, I spend some time talking about what works for me, what does not work, and why. I show you some great cymbals from my personal collection, including several heirloom pieces inherited from my grandfather. I hope you enjoy this video!
