Whilst messing around on the West and East Coastway lines, I found out that Newhaven Harbour station wasn't being served with a half hourly service as, unbenknowst to me prior to going out, the station has been demoted to get a whopping 8 trains a day as of December 2020. The train that terminate here sod off into the old Newhaven Marine station area which I thought had the 3rd rail taken off when demolished but no.
I think this is being done by Southern so they can claim nobody uses the station (a point added due to the fact that the Port of Newhaven is inaccesible to the publicfrom Harbour station and requires using Town) so they can close it in X years from now.
I just happened to arrive in Newhaven in time to ride and film the inbound and outbound services so whatever, I'll take it. Yes I was the only passenger on board lol.
