The S1 Vivaldi II Home Espresso Machine is perfect if you have a small kitchen but still crave quality espresso at home. Although La Spaziale's new at-home espresso machine is called a mini, it offers a long list of features.
Plexi cup guards have been removed from the top cover. It is much easier to use the new top; the old top had a cup guard that was easily broken, leaving a gap around the edges. The machine's overall height is also lowered to just 15". The portafilters that are included with the machine have also been redesigned.
A programmable + or - 8-degree Offset Differential was added, as well as the option of a pre-infusion chamber. Using this pre-infusion chamber is similar to using a pre-infusion chamber on an E61 group. The chamber attaches to the side of your brew group through a pre-drilled and tapped hole. Just unscrew the plug and attach the chamber. In this way, the LED temperature setting on the front of the machine can be adjusted to represent not just the temperature inside the boiler but also the temperature that is being delivered to the group.
For checking or adjusting your pump's output pressure, you no longer need a portafilter with a pressure gauge due to the built-in manometer.
A temperature drop of one degree Celsius was required to activate the heater in the previous model. Vivaldi II activates the heater when a temperature drop of just half a degree Celsius is detected. It enhances the performance of steam boilers by making the temperature accuracy more precise in the group boiler.
Temperature sensing probes have been updated. New probes are inserted directly into the boilers. Compared to the previous style, this probe is more reliable and responds faster. Previously, the display showed 5-degree increments from 85 to 120 degrees Celsius. 91 to 97 degrees Celsius are displayed in 1-degree increments on the new Vivaldi II.
