We have other issues around new build homes in the UK that make this way harder than it should be. I mean why put the consumer unit in the middle of the house via a submain? Making access to it very very hard. Why ram a meter cabinet with such terrible cable termination. Why no provision for more than a 2.5mm submain to a double detached garage on a house sold in 2024?
The sums do not add up, or maybe they do and thats the problem!
We did our best to rework something that wasnt in the best shape and deliver a solution the customer wanted with a view towards what is to come.
We are really excited to bring renewable power to this home in 2025 even if the developers require payment/grant permission to install said equipment. Madness in the drive to net zero.
This could be so much better without any real costs in the grand scheme of building a house.
