How to Make Suman (Suman Ilocano)
Ingredients:
3 cups of glutinous rice
banana leaves
1 tsp salt
1 can of coconut cream or coconut milk so it won’t be very creamy.
1 tbsp of pandan essence (optional)
-Wash and soak glutinous rice for 1hr
-Remove water (use strainer)
-Bring coconut cream with salt to boil, then add glutinous rice.
-Continue stirring until glutinous rice absorbs the coconut cream.
-Remove from heat and let it cool.
-Microwave the leaves for 1-2 minutes to soften.
-Wrap 2-3 tbsp of the glutinous rice with banana leaf.
-Put in a pan, add water, and cook for 30- 35 minutes.
-Once done, remove from water.
-You can dip it in sugar or arnibal.
-Best served with coffee.
