Every morning, the Royal Samoa Police Band marches from the Police Headquarters to Government House in Apia, the capital of Samoa playing their form of Viennese brass band music. They play the Samoan national anthem and raise the flag. From observing their daily routine, I began to envisage creating a large scale live performance artwork that explores the German colonial administration of Samoa from 1900-1914 and it's ongoing residue in Contemporary Samoa.
The season at the iconic Carriageworks, Sydney is the culmination of four years to produce and it was simply spectacular.
