Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni, has warned that South Africa needs to rein in debt.
Or he says the country could face a sovereign debt crisis when it can no longer pay the interest on the money it has borrowed. Announcing the supplementary budget today he said it was key for South Africa to close the jaws of the hippo - the difference between the money coming in and rising expenses.
