Some quick hits:

Do not put observation hours in your experiences section. If you have any experiences where you were working with or observing a PT or PTA, THOSE HOURS ONLY GO UNDER THE OBSERVATION HOURS SECTION! Everything else goes under experiences.

Throw as many good and worthwhile experiences into your experiences section! If you did something worthwhile over the past 4-5 years, include it! Put it in there! We call the experiences section the throw mud at it section of PTCAS. Pour as much goodness as you can into your application!

Don’t stress out too much about having a perfect calculation of all of your hours for this section. Make an honest attempt to estimate if you don’t have it logged, and please do not sell out and inflate the number of hours that you have just so that your application looks better. Do the best you can and have integrity.

In the description section of your experiences focus on writing things that everyone can understand. Avoid jargon, focus on using numbers, percentages, action words, and share at the end how the experience has helped you develop attributes that have prepared you to become a PT.
