‘Death to Modern Life’ is a signature Idle Noise track that oozes with confidence and boldness from the band. Reigning in their sound, they produce heavy riffs and desolating vocals on this track that delve into politics and the corruption that goes on from the top of society’s hierarchy. It’s a loud gem that’s just waiting to be heard. Peppering in a sprinkle of theatrical clapping, Idle Noise presents layers upon layers of dynamism.
Written by frontman and lead vocalist Brandist, he spoke about the track, “Death to Modern Life tells the story of a man who’s tired of so many of us not asking questions of the powers above. He tells his view of how people stand in line and continue to accept poor decisions, from any party, within any government, in any country, often without asking ‘why?’”
"He wants those who say ‘I don’t really follow politics’ or ‘they’re all as bad as each other aren’t they?’, to stand up and have their own opinions and voices heard rather than being bystanders, complicit in the allowance of injustice, cronyism and tax evasion… you name it, they’ve probably done it.
We’re not a political or anti-establishment band, we just write about what we see. This isn’t about picking sides or fighting a set cause. This song is for everyone. Regardless of your political standing, the powers above that so many people support - whether political parties you vote for or oppose, businesses you buy from, media outlets you read, celebrities you allow a platform to - all have understated failures that need holding to account."
