There is actually an interesting reason behind something that makes Bruce the shark upset in one scene. When he finds out that Marlin is searching the ocean for his son Nemo, Bruce becomes upset and begins to cry knowing that he never even knew his own father. In actual fact, that makes sense, as in nature male sharks are known to mate with females and then leave. So, all sharks never necessarily meet their fathers.
