Dominique Bird, Improving Quality Together Programme Manager talks about IQT.
"All health boards and trusts across NHS Wales are fully engaged in incorporating Improving Quality Together locally - we've had over 450 people accessing and completing the bronze level to date across NHS Wales - and that includes the future workforce and we've has silver projects ranging from improving processes around patient involvement, getting expenses, to reducing steroid use of inhalers in primary care.
Improving quality together isn't about a training programme. It's about embedding quality improvement in all we do so that we can develop patient care at the front line and improve the systems in which we work.
Success for improving quality together will be when every staff member feels able to challenge the statement "That's the way we've always done it" and they're given the time and the skills to make improvements in patient care. Success will really be when improvement is everybody's habit."
