On December 20, 2024, a stabbing attack occurred at a primary school in Zagreb, Croatia, leaving one child dead and several others injured. The assailant, a 19-year-old former student, entered the school at 9:50 a.m. and attacked a teacher and several pupils with a sharp object. The teacher suffered life-threatening injuries, and two adults and five children were taken to the hospital. Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic expressed his horror at the tragedy, while interior and education ministers were at the scene to investigate the incident. The attacker was detained by police.
