We're riding the Bayshore Bikeway, where it picks up on Harbor Dr at West Eighth Street, and going all the way the southern tip of the Silver Strand, at 13th in Imperial Beach (where the Silver Strand Bikeway starts). This ride is about 8.3 miles.
0:00 The Bayshore Bikeway begins (with a Class I Bike Path) at W Eighth St in National City
2:19 On Tidelands Ave we move to a Class II Bike Lane
7:02 Left on 32nd St to Class III with Sharrows
7:58 Back on the Bike Path at 32nd and Marina Way
13:57 E St, where I should have made a left on Gunpowder Point Dr to pick up a beautiful new bike path, but missed it because there are no signs
15:26 Pass Lagoon Dr, at first, but then U-turn and take it
17:18 Bend on Marina Parkway, and can see the lovely path I missed before
18:35 Right on G St
19:03 Class IV Cycle Track starts, and goes to Bayside Park
19:55 Bayside Park
21:05 Exit park on Bayside Prky
21:40 Right on Sandpiper Way (no bike paint)
23:02 Marina Parkway (back to a Class II bike lane)
26:05 Right onto Bayshore Bike Path at Bay Blvd
28:10 Excellent Graffiti & Murals
29:02 Bay Blvd with Class IV Cycle Track (I think)
31:20 Bay Blvd & Palomar St (Class II for like a block)
31:45 Passing South Bay Salt Works (this area just gets industrial, hardly a road at all
33:20 Left on Anita St
33:40 Right on W Frontage Rd
35:02 Enter the Bayshore Bikway/Silver Strand Bikeway Class 1 Bike Path
Some parts of this ride are lovely, and some feel dangerous (if drivers were present), and some are just straight up boring. But without a place for bikes on the Coronado Bridge, this how we get to Coronado. And this is how we ride to the Silver Strand, which is some good miles for exercise, recreation, and active transportation.
