This gorgeous old girl was rescued by Nev after being found by a homeowner staying in his orange tree during the day.
Competition for available food resources can be tough sometimes and during downturns, it's not unusual to have flying-foxes food guarding.
Or was Great Dame Kath clipped by a car or did she collide with something that left her unable or unwilling to fly away?
We will never know but for now Kath is recovering well in care and enjoying as much banana as she can handle.
