Jut has bush-wacked through the jungles of Belize and China, rappelled into the deepest volcanic pit on the Big Island of Hawai’i, endured the world’s driest desert in northern Chile, explored the deep vertical caves in Southern Spain, and traveled to the most remote inhabited place on earth, Easter Island - just to learn more about caves and the secrets they contain. There is incredible species to be discovered, unlike any on the planet, sometimes only found within one cave on the entire planet! Jut is active in the developing field of planetary cave exploration. He is furthering remote sensing detection capabilities of caves in the thermal infrared and visible spectrum, and collaborating with NASA researchers to bolster technologies of both robotic and human exploration of extraterrestrial caves.
