This is the weirdest and rarest vehicle seen on the battlefield, it’s not a tank nor an infantry fighting vehicle. It’s not even an armored engineering vehicle. It is a class of vehicle that is of extreme specialization called BTM-3 high-speed trench digger. As the name implies its intended roles is to make trenches at the frontlines. The weight of the machine is 37 tons and is based on the chassis of a T-54 tank with a chain saw type excavator. BTM-3 can dig a trench five feet deep and three feet wide at a rate of up to 700 meters an hour. The Ukrainians are digging them in order to consolidate their territorial gains.
