Hello,
In this video I give you a brief overview of my antenna switching, rotator control and antenna tuning system, using one controller, which communicates with a slave located on the other side of my property. The reason I ended up doing it like this is because I did not want to run all those cables for antenna switching, rotor control, possible 4SQ control lines, and son on, from the "antenna barn" to the basement shack. Now I have one 1/2 coax and a shielded cat5 cable that runs between the shack and the barn, which will handle (hopefully) all needs that might arise. I chose to use Mega 2560´s because of their vast numbers of I/O pins. In the future, I might add the possibility to have pc control, and direction commands, but that´s another chapter.
I have used an RS485 library by Nick Gammon, an analog clock sketch was modified to work as an antenna direction graphical representation.
The rest of the code is a mess of my own work, and lots of copy/paste from previous projects.
I have designed the PC boards using EasyEDA.
Mny tnx for watching. // Tommy, SA2CLC
