I think we really dodged a bullet here, this thing was one holeshot away from coming through the floor. A couple of months ago we took the Death Pumpkin to our local track, Tri State raceway in Earlville Iowa. We managed to get two partial runs, both resulted in the lunch box locker letting go between first and second gear. Yeah we got really lucky, should have stopped after the first run.
Plans for a fresh trans are in the works. So far we've scored a suitable core from our good friend and contributor Terry Meyer, a new manual valve body and bolt in sprag from the good folks over at Cope Racing Transmissions. @coperacingtrans Anyway we've got more to do, stay tuned.
