Finally Reaching Yellowstone! Two Days Exploring the North Loop PLUS first come first serve camping! Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
Staying at Indian Creek Campground in Yellowstone's North Loop and Driving Lamar Valley!
I knew going into this week that Yellowstone was not a park that could be explored quickly, but the amount of driving and distance this park covers still surprises me!! I took the first 2 days to explore the North Loop.
I started at the east entrance to Yellowstone coming out of Buffalo, Wyoming and through Cody to reach the park. My firs stop was at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone to soak in Artists Point and the upper and lower falls! I think I took one of the prettiest picture of my whole life- Its on the left in the thumbnail. Amazing!
I left the park as the sun set to boondock at a rest stop in Montana. I had to make something work to get up early the next morning to get a first come first serve campsite in Yellowstone at Indian Creek Campground. I knew it would be amazing to camp in Yellowstone, but also make it easier to see more within the park during my days.
I stayed at the campground for 2 nights and spent my first day exploring Lamar Valley trying to spot Bison, Bears and Elk along the way. I took the chance to really sit and watch the bison for a while and really enjoyed the landscape.
I ended the day at Yellowstone Pizza and Norris Geyser Basin. It was a blast to really settle into the park and get to see all of these amazing things.
Up next I'll take a stab at the south loop with the Grand Prismatic Spring and Old Faithful!
