A minimum wage of R3 500 per month has been recommended for South African workers. Making the announcement, Deputy President, Cyril Ramaphosa said the proposed minimum wage is expected to reduce income inequalities. The minimum wage has been a subject of an expert panel for the past two years. The Deputy President said the report will now await public input.
