Madagascar remains one of the countries at most risk from climate change.
It is the country most affected by cyclones in Africa.
Cyclones have a devastating impact on food insecurity. In January 2023, Doctors Without Borders teams treated around 2,300 children suffering from severe malnutrition in southeastern Madagascar.
In February 2023, Cyclone Freddy--a category 5 cyclone--hit Madagascar, affecting over 85,000 people.
