U.S. Marines with Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force-Crisis Response-Africa 19.2, Marine Forces Europe and Africa conduct a tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel rehearsal near Vizzini, Italy, May 2, 2019. The rehearsal was executed to increase proficiency as a crisis response force by testing the SPMAGTF’s ability to locate simulated injured isolated personnel, authenticate their identity, care for their injuries, safely move the IP to a landing zone, and extract all personnel from the area. SPMAGTF-CR-AF is deployed to conduct crisis-response and theater-security operations in Africa and promote regional stability by conducting military-to-military training exercises throughout Europe and Africa.
