SARS is expected to have a revenue shortfall of about R50 billion in the financial year, ending February next year. There have been continued disparities between the National Treasury's revenue targets and the revenue SARS is able to collect.
Last week SARS re-established the Large business Centre with the hope of improving tax collection. The Centre deals with corporate taxes which contribute about 16 percent to the total revenue.
