In this electron beam welding video what you are seeing is a weld segment of an alloy-steel cooling channel application split into two separate video feeds as displayed to the weld operator.
1. The first feed (left) shows a dry weld run without the cooling channel cover affixed on the part to display the complicated weld path.
2. The other feed (right) is the same time period within the CNC program, this time with the cooling channel cover on and fully assembled, showing the actual blind EB weld pass.
You will notice occasional features adjacent to the weld such as the hold down bolts that come into very close proximity to the weld pass but remain unaffected due to EBW's low heat input.
