A double ender is smaller than a transom boat for the same lenght.
There is not so much space on the aft deck.
On the other hand a double ender have a longer waterline than a transom boat for the same lenght.
A double ender can better take waves from behind.
Adaption is the name of the game.
There is not much place for hatch and other things on the other hand I am glad to build a handy boat a small boat.
