2022 BMW M240i First Drive: The M2 Is Gonna Be Special!
Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. Ever since the BMW M240i was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and had the petrolhead world divided on the styling I've been keen to see what it's like to drive. After a bit of a wait, I had the chance to do so very recently whilst attending the SMMT Test day.
Though the styling may have not hit the mark for everybody, I'm sure we'll agree just how great it is to sill have a 3.0 litre straight six under the bonnet, especially when you consider the hot 1 series has lost that powertrain. The new 2022 BMW M240i produces 374hp along with 500Nm, meaning 0-62 in 4.3 seconds, and a top speed of 155mph.
So far, it looks as not much has changed for the M240i recipe, but hold your 374 horses for a moment...It's no longer rear wheel drive. No, instead, the new BMW M240i uses xDrive, meaning it's all wheel drive, although all the power can be sent to the rear in the right conditions.
Is the new M240i actually any good, though?
