The Site
Grotta Vinci is located near to the "A" Zone of the Marine Reserve, at the same-named point. It is probably the only sea cave not officially classified yet.
A small fissure is what you wouldn't believe it to be its entrance, as it opens into a wide single chamber with a still pool of sea water surrounded by a pebbly beach as an amphitheatre. The centrality of the cave allows the visitor to embrace the whole environment with a single glance.
(ITA) la Grotta Vinci si trova in prossimità della Zona "A" della Riserva Marina, all'omonima punta. Probabilmente è l'unica grotta marina di Ustica non ancora ufficialmente catalogata.
Una piccola fenditura è ciò che non si penserebbe mai essere il suo ingresso, poiché si apre in una camera molto ampia con una piscina di acqua di mare circondata da una spiaggia di ciottoli come in un anfiteatro. La centralità della grotta permette al visitatore di abbracciare l'intero ambiente con un solo sguardo.
The Snorkelling Tour
The boat moors in the outside bay not too close to the entrance of the cave (because of shallow waters) so we start with a pleasant swim overlooking the pillow lavas.
Whether there is low or high tide we take off our fins to walk through the mouth of the cave, a narrow opening in the rock wall. We slowly walk in shallow water to get our eyes adapt to less light, as the walls of the wide chamber appear clearer, and equipped with flashlights along the perimeter of the cave.

La barca si ormeggia nella baia antistante la grotta ad una certa distanza (a causa del basso fondale), concedendoci una piacevole nuotata sul fondale di lava a cuscino.
Che ci sia bassa o alta marea, togliamo le pinne per attraversare l'imboccatura della grotta, una stretta fenditura nella parete rocciosa. Camminiamo lentamente in acque poco profonde per far sì che i nostri occhi si adattino alla poca luce e man mano che le pareti appaiono più visibili e attrezzati di torce procediamo lungo il perimetro della grotta.
