Every engine has an apparatus for regulating the oil pressure. On a Rover 4.0L it is a serviceable part. If you have the timing cover off then take the opportunity to clean out the valve assembly and install a new o-ring. If you overheat one of these Rover V8's, then this valve will likely stick open and you won't have any oil pressure. If your engine takes more than a second to get oil pressure after starting, then clean out this valve. Dirt and sludge will make it stick open. The o-ring is a point of leaking that few people think about. On 99% of the engines on the road, few have a serviceable oil pressure relief valve. You can also call this a check valve or bypass valve, they are all relevant terms. #classiccar #musclecar #landrover .#landrover ,#rover ,#4.0l ,#engine ,#diy ,#mechanic ,#machinists ,#comedy ,#tools ,#ASEcertified ,#exhaust ,#manifold ,#brokenstud ,#brokenbolt ,#timingchain ,#crankshaft ,#bearings ,#oilpump ,#classiccar
