Basmati rice-2Cups
oil-1/4 Cup
cloves-3
cinnamon-1stick
cardamon -4
onion-1big
ginger garlic paste-1 TBSP
mint leaves -as required
corriander - as required
green chillies-6
Biryani powder-1 TBSP
water -3 1/2 cups
ghee - 1TBSP
saffron - a pinch (soaked in milk)
fried onions- to decorate
method
wash and saok basmati rice-2Cups for 30 minutes.
add 1/4 cup oil in a pan.
add cloves, cardamon, cinnamon .
saute for a minute.
add chopped onions and fry till golden brown.
add ginger garlic paste-1 TBSP.
saute for 3 minutes till the raw smell goes away.
add Biryani powder-1 TBSP with some green chillies.
saute again for a minute.
add water-3 1/2 cups and allow to get a boil.
cover the lid and cook until there's no water left in the rice.
add saffron milk mix.
add ghee , cover the lid and cook for 5/7 minutes on low flame.
This Biryani goes well with chicken curry or mixed vegetable curry.
