Artist - Albert Gustaf Aristides Edelfelt - was one of the premier painters of the Golden Age of Finnish Art. His precocious talent made him an international name in the arts, studied in Belgium and Paris at the prestigious Ecole Des Beaux Arts. He was a friend of Bastien Lepage and Dagnan Bouveret and won early recognition at the Salons. Although he began paintings of historical themes, he quickly realized that real-life made more sense and thus began his venture into the Open Air.
