Britain just recently discovered a large number of British schools bought by Chinese. Of the 17 UK schools owned by China, 9 were linked to high-ranking communist party members. The same has happened in America: Chinese buy U.S. private schools. While Chinese investments in the U.S. have grown over the past twenty years, China’s overseas education strategy has prompted Chinese education investments in America to expand substantially in the past five years. Chinese buy U.S. private schools and American campuses. However, China’s overseas education investments have attracted resistance from local communities. Americans are concerned with Chinese investments in American schools and fear a Chinese takeover of American schools.
