I went to Dusseldorf on a weekend in late Feburary 2017, I had no idea that it was Karneval weekend. Everyone was in costume. On the subway, I asked a gentleman if he spoke English, because I wanted permission to get a picture of his costume. Next I knew, he insisted that I join his family at Karneval. Many thanks to this German family; they really made my weekend great.
