This might sound obvious, but DON’T inhale your beauty products. I recently started to notice that loose powders, such as @Laura Mercier’s iconic setting powder come with warnings, specifically saying “do not inhale.” A lot of the concerns around talc specifically come from there being potentially carcinogenic materials inside the talc, like asbestos. This does not mean that there is anything harmful inside the talc or that asbestos is there, but simply a statement that consumers should not inhale the powder as an extra precaution. This could have been also potentially been inspired by recent developments with the Johnson and Johnson lawsuit. I always say to be as mindful as possible and to understand why there are warnings on our packaging!
