From 19 May, Singapore will prioritise the first doses of the vaccines to protect more people. To do so, the interval between vaccine doses will be extended to 6 - 8 weeks, as vaccine supplies are finite. This extension will maximise vaccine coverage without materially impacting the eventual overall immune response.
Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung was speaking at the Multi-Ministry Taskforce press conference on 18 May 2021.
