Alasitas is a word that comes from the Aymara language and it means “buy” or “buy me.” This is a traditional fair that celebrates abundance. More than that, however, it is a UNESCO immaterial world heritage and it has been since 2017. Bolivians dedicate this festival to the Aymara god of abundance, Ekeko.
