Chlamydial and Rickettsial Infections are caused by Gram-Negative Bacteria. C. trachomatis is the causative agent of chlamydial Infections. How fallopian tube damage occurs is discussed in its Pathogenesis where scar formation is observed after follicle necrosis. One of the chlamydial infections include lymphogranuloma venereum which is a sexually transmitted disease infecting the Lymphatic System. Its clinical features and complications are elaborated later on.

Besides the Pneumonia of viral origin, Bacterial Pneumonia delineated in this lecture is caused by Chlamydia pneumoniae. One more Infection is the rocky mountain spotted fever which is caused by a bacterium Rickettsia rickettsii. This disease in human progresses when a female tick infected with rickettsia lays egg and its nymph infect the human.

Epidemic typhus or louse-borne typhus is caused by another specie of Rickettsiae i.e. Rickettsia prowazekii. Its clinical features encompass Encephalitis and interstitial nephritis. Likewise, endemic typhus or murine typhus is elaborated which is caused by Rickettsia typhi. Alongside, scrub typhus is delineated. Furthermore, Q fever is elaborated which is acquired by inhaling the air from the surrounding where infected cattle, sheep, and goats are present.
