This session helped unpack the role that different social protection interventions along the lifecycle have played. Speakers talked about how specific social protection programmes aimed at groups at different stages in their lifecycle, including vulnerable children and their families, the unemployed and the elderly, have helped to mitigate the impact of the crisis on these groups. They also explained how programmes were modified to better respond to people’s rapidly changing needs and shared lessons that they learned along the way.
