The Midlands were blessed today with TWO steam railtours running within a few hours of each other.
LMS Stanier "Black Five" No. 45212 took a break from Jacobite duties to run WCRCs "Peaks Express". Meanwhile, LMS Stanier Jubilee No. 45596 "Bahamas" made its first mainline run of the season, taking over the castles duties on VTs "Shakespeare Express"
We start off in Alfreton as we 45212 at pace through the station with a nice whistle. Next up takes us into the evening. After a bunch of cancellations on the national network, I found myself shooting her arrival and departure at Chesterfield. Finally, we turn our attention to 45596 Bahamas, (running 30 minutes early somehow) as she hauls herself into Derby, looking absolutely stunning under the station lights.
Many thanks to EMR and Northern Rail for being so unbelievably useless today. Many train cancellations, multiple delays and many missed opportunities to film. Should have more to show but hope you enjoy these selection of shots :)
