India is the 5th largest economy in the world and is currently on its way to becoming the 3rd largest economy. However, this journey from 5th to 3rd largest economy cannot be achieved without energy security.
The rising population of India is adding up to the energy demands along with the fluctuating global oil and gas prices are a threat to the energy security of India and its extent, a threat to the growth of the Indian economy.
What is energy security?
Energy security is the uninterrupted availability of energy sources at an affordable price. It means if a community or a state or the entire nation can get an uninterpreted energy supply then they will be known to have achieved energy security.
