Advances in artificial intelligence have made headlines with the advent of OpenAI’s ChatGPT and sharper deepfake technologies. This plenary will focus on recent developments in the field of artificial intelligence, how these technologies could be beneficial, but also how they can perpetuate inequality and discrimination, the risks they pose to U.S. national security, and the role of the public and private sectors in mitigating discriminatory legacies and risks.
