Today we’re getting under the hood of Dr. Cara Reeves a mother, daughter, sister, women’s advocate, and clinical psychologist with an extensive background in the psychological assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and adults in both clinical and medical settings.
Dr. Reeves received her doctoral training at the University of Mississippi and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Reeves also completed a research internship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where she developed a programmatic line of research examining the cognitive sequelae of pediatric brain tumors and leukemia. Since completion of her training, Dr. Reeves worked as a staff psychologist for the Children’s Hospital of Prisma Health System, serving as a clinical provider for a comprehensive weight management program, bariatric weight management clinic and the Pediatric Behavioral Health Clinic. Dr. Reeves also worked as a contract psychologist for the Center for Research, Assessment and Treatment Efficacy in Asheville, where she conducted comprehensive psychological evaluations on adolescents in residential treatment facilities.
Dr. Reeves joined Stephens Psychiatry in January 2019. Her practice focuses on the delivery of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adolescent and adult clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems, such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and relationship problems.
