The making of the 2004 film On The Downlow...This is the feature length documentary that Director Tadeo Garcia and myself, Screenwriter Roger B. Domian created to celebrate and show how we created our small independent film, On The Downlow, on a shoestring budget.
Originally included as an extra on the 2006 Image Entertainment released On The Downlow DVD, now long Out Of Print (though copies can still be found out there). This is the full story. From conception to completion. The film itself, embraced by hundreds of film festivals and critics worldwide since it's first screening in Turin Italy, has gathered countless positive reviews, and a few 'not so' favorable reviews. Those who seen it for what it was, a creative dream come to be, by newcomer filmmaker Tadeo Garcia has inspired countless conversations and theses on it's subject matter of a life not spoken about until this time.
Winner of the New York Newfest Best Narrative Feature Film award (as well as many others) is still talked about in many circles.
Sadly the film on DVD is now out of print, but I chose to add this to my channel as a historic creative video of what exactly went into the production and creation of this unique, important and touching film. Edited, shot, and created specifically for the DVD release by Tadeo Garcia and Roger B. Domian, here it is now in it's original complete form.
Note that if you have not see the original film, it should be stated that many spoilers and plot twists are discussed and shown in this documentary. Please if you can, seek out, purchase, and view this movie on your own time. It is one worthy of any movie collection (especially if you know those participants involved). Enjoy our slice of creative life in 2004.
