I went downtown to go shopping/browsing through some hidden gem shops and also Value Village. I was definitely on a mission to thrift the perfect staple items for my wardrobe that would help me put together outfits for everyday wear, since I still struggle with that!

I set s couple of strict guidelines for myself, along with a few other notions in my head about what pieces would bring true value to my closet.

My rules:
1. The item needs to fit
2. No noticeable stains or tears
3. Things that require little to no alterations
4. Good color that will match my existing wardrobe!

Having these in mind helped me pick out the best items, and leave the “just ok” items behind. My wallet was better for it.

My goal over the year is to really establish my closet as something that is valuable to me in the long run. I want high quality clothes that I can take care of and keep basically for as long as possible, which means it needs to be built of timeless things rather than trendy things, realistic for wear/won’t get ruined easily, and things that really resonate with me and my style (which is subject to change, but dark academia/witchy has been my favorite style since I could form opinions, so that’s my basis).
